HaTzofim Australia is a branch of the Israeli Scouts youth organisation (non-profit). Ha’Tzofim first branch in Australia was opened in Melbourne in 2013. Our second branch in Sydney open it’s gates back in 2016.

HaTzofim is a Zionist youth movement, whose mission is to operate and develop educational programs and values, in which children and young adults – members of the Jewish- Israeli community in North America, Australia and Western Europe – will engage in a variety of social and educational Zionist experiences, which will help them build knowledge of and love for the Land of Israel.

Weekly activities are planned and executed by high school children leading kids grades 3-9, all held in Hebrew.

HaTzofim encourages its participants to engage in activities that enhance their community and society. We aim to play a significant role in shaping the character and quality of Israeli society through programs and volunteer services that lead to maximum realization of participants’ talents and their ability to contribute to Israeli society through service and communal partnership.

The Youth Movement is an integral part of the Israel Scouts and Tzofim Tzabar Olami thus we act in accordance with the visions, goals, and guiding principles of both organizations. We are working according to the principles of the Israeli youth movement – imparting tools and educating for young leadership, independence, personal and social responsibility.

We encourage our participants to explore different opportunities to take a meaningful part in Israeli society through our different programs, such as Shnat Sherut Gap Year program and Garin Tzabar IDF service.

Recognising the effect on the mental health and the sense of isolation caused by relocating from Israel to Australia Ha’tzofim Australia was established to give a sense of community and structure to these people. While not restricting membership to anyone its programs are designed to resolve these issue for native Hebrew speakers. Every single day, especially nowadays, we emphasise and stress how critical sharing and togetherness are to prevent and relieve feelings and emotions of self-isolation by organising cultural events, strengthening networking within the community and having a wide range of outdoor activities. Ha’Tzofim, affiliated with the Australian Zionist Youth Council (AZYC), is accredited by the Australian Childhood Foundation, adheres to Child Safety and Mental Health First Aid prevention standards and follows its guidelines.
